What is Linear?
Linear is a fast, keyboard-driven issue tracker built for human engineering teams. It is mature and well-integrated, and its 2026 Coding Sessions will run Claude Code or Codex on a delegated issue and attach the diff. Both tools keep the human as assignee and treat the agent as a contributor — Hiveship uses the same model. The difference is whose agent runs and how you pay for it.
Bring the agent you already run
Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Devin, or your own agent with a scoped bearer token or the MCP server, then watch its activity and PR links stream onto the board. Linear runs the session for you on its own credits; Hiveship stays agent-agnostic, so you keep your setup, your model choice, and your bill.
Flat per-workspace pricing
Linear Standard is $10 per seat per month, so a 10-person team pays $100/mo. Hiveship Pro is $19/mo flat for up to 10 members — and connecting more AI agents never increases your bill, because limits are per-workspace, not per-agent.

When Linear is the better choice
We’d rather you pick the right tool than the wrong one. Linear is the stronger fit if:
- You’re a pure human team with no plans to bring in AI coding agents — Linear is more mature and battle-tested for that workflow.
- You depend on a specific Linear integration (e.g. a niche tool in their catalog) that Hiveship doesn’t offer yet.
